Buchla & Friends 2026 is now underway. Up the freeway from NAMM, the Buchla-organized event is a modular and boutique-synth-focused showcase with free entry. I have to say, I’ve been much more excited about it than NAMM, which is very guitar and drum-heavy even during the best of years. And frankly, this year hasn’t been that exciting for synth nerds like me.

The first announcement from B&F comes from Noise Engineering. Multi Repetitor is a generative trigger sequencer with hands-on control, and the successor to the company’s popular Numeric and Zularic Repetitor modules. If you’ve been missing those previous devices, you’re in luck, as the module has their algorithms – plus a lot more.

Trust the Algorithm

The 10HP Multi Repetitor gives you three algorithms to play with: the two from Numeric (mathematical functions) and Zularic (African musical theory-based), plus a Euclidean mode. Use the Prime fader to scroll through these in real time. These each send out four triggers that you modify manually with an equal number of faders. You can control tempo by tapping it in or connecting an external clock. The algorithm is always running, although you can reset it at any time.

You can control all of the sliders with external CV for variations and there are also accents.

“Whether you want classic grooves or evolving, unpredictable rhythms, Multi Repetitor keeps the immediacy of the originals while expanding the creative palette,” says Noise Engineering.

Pricing and Availability

With the patterns constantly running, this latest entry in the Repetitor series looks to be a fantastic way to get patterns up and running quickly. It seems particularly good for live performance. And, since it’s always on the move, you don’t even have to set anything up – just patch and play.

Multi Repetitor is available now from Noise Engineering for $320.
