Launched at NAMM 2026, the SSL ORIGIN EVO console adds new E-Series channel strips to the ORIGIN series with new filters and routing options.

The ORIGIN console was first introduced in 2019, providing that classic inline console workflow for producers and engineers who still love doing things the analogue way.

The new EVO edition of the ORIGIN console will be available in 16 and 32-channel versions, featuring the same architecture and a newly updated Origin Mk2 frame that can fit larger rack units like the Harrison 500 Series Rack System. Also, current ORIGIN owners will be thrilled to know that you can upgrade your console with the EVO channel strips with 8-channel kits.

More Information

The E-Series dynamics section adds that signature aggressive punch to your compression workflow with super-fast gates. Also, like the original E-Series, it’s equipped with a discrete gain reduction stage and an RMS detection sidechain circuit. What’s more, there is a useful LINK feature that allows you to chain a sidechain signal across multiple channels.

In addition, you can use fast attack mode, choose between linear or logarithmic release, or bypass the soft-knee curve. This allows you to shift quickly between subtle vocal peak leveling and more aggressive shaping of drums and guitars. Besides the dynamics section, there is a new 12 dB/octave low-pass filter, which joins the 18 dB/octave high-pass filter, which are ideal for setting the frequency range of instruments and shaping sidechain signals for de-essing and gating.

Overall, the EVO extends the E-Series legacy, blending perfectly with the old-school sentiment of the ORIGIN console. This is likely to be a hit for current ORIGIN users, as you can add 8 or 16 EVO channels for contrast. Meanwhile, fans of the original E-Series now have a reason to think about this amazing inline console.
