With the CTRL software, you can customize any MK2 monitoring configuration from stereo to multichannel immersive setups. The system works via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, allowing scalability for up to 250 loudspeakers. The CTRL software harnesses the onboard SHARC DSP system of the MK2 monitors and allows you to optimize the performance in the respective closed or ported (CoP) speaker modes.
With a range of features including EQ, desktop and shelving filters, bass extension, and the HEDD Lineariser, CTRL allows you to make adjustments in real-time, with a full operational overview. Also, you can save and recall multiple profiles, which means you can save settings for specific speaker configurations, like stereo or immersive systems, or different listening positions in the room.
With each speaker or speaker group, you can use a 10-band parametric EQ to optimize the frequency range, while the delay control lets you time-align each speaker perfectly. Between satellite speakers and subwoofers, there is global phase linearisation, which ensures accurate performance with any multichannel configuration from 2.1, immersive, or other surround setups.
Another useful feature allows you to switch between low-latency mode for tracking and linear-phase mode for mixing, so you get the most precise monitoring experience possible for your specific application. Overall, CTRL makes speaker optimization a more transparent process, and future software updates will unlock new features, which adds value for MK2 monitor users.
