More Information

As the name suggests, the input stage is equipped with eight discrete console-style transistor-based Class-A XLR combo mic preamps, with 75 dB of gain and mic modeling support when combined with Antelope’s Edge microphones. Also, there is a range of analogue outputs, including the main balanced TRS outputs, a set of alt speaker or re-amping outputs, and eight output channels via D-Sub 25.

This enables switching between two sets of monitors, or adding guitar amps and outboard gear into your DAW workflow. Meanwhile, the D-Sub connector can be wired directly into a patchbay or summing mixer for easy routing in the analogue domain. On the digital side, the Discrete 8 Oryx has a software patchbay app, providing easy access to monitoring setups and the onboard Synergy Core effects.

In addition, the digital I/O includes ADAT with up to 16 channels at 48 kHz, as well as S/PDIF, and three word clock outputs for sending stable clocking to other digital conversion stages. There are also four independent headphone outputs, and the new X-FEED headphone processing and calibration tool for getting the most neutral results from your headphones.
