“I wanted to create a bespoke guitar with PRS for the F1 movie and song I did, ‘Drive.’ I wanted it to be striking, bright, and a baritone so I can use it on tour for the song. It’s a fantastic guitar, I’ve done a few shows with it now and it knocks,” – Ed Sheeran.

Baritone Guitar

It is a pretty unique guitar and if you are a fan of Ed, red guitars or like baritone models, then it is one to look out for when he plays live. PRS also makes the SE 277 CA Charcoal Burst baritone model currently available at Thomann, so if you want a similar feel to Sheeran’s one off model, this could be the one to aim for.

Behringer Centara Overdrive

Behringer has rebranded the Centaur Overdrive, as the Centara Overdrive. This is their take on the Klon Centaur circuit, and it looks as though this is a response to the recent legal action taken by Klon LLC, which our German sister site covered last week.

Updated Look

This updated version now has the Behringer name on the front of the pedal, the new Centara Overdrive name and an updated centaur logo, who now has a spear.

The circuit is pretty close to the Klon-style overdrive, just now it doesn’t look as similar to the original Klon Centaur design.

Affordable Klon Clone

I have owned two original Klon Centaur pedals, and the Warm Audio Centavo, plus I have one of these Behringer pedals. If you want an affordable Klon style pedal they are pretty decent and not at all expensive. Which makes them perfect for gigging with, rather that a $5k plus original Klon Centaur overdrive pedal.

Official MSRP – USD 59.99

It looks to be exactly the same pedal as before, just with a new look and you can order them directly from Thomann.

Tributes

Paul Rogers remembered Ralphs, “Our Mick has passed, my heart just hit the ground. He has left us with exceptional songs and memories. He was my friend, my songwriting partner, an amazing and versatile guitarist who had the greatest sense of humour. Our last conversation a few days ago we shared a laugh but it won’t be our last. There are many memories of Mick that will create laughter. Condolences to everyone who loved him especially his one true love, Susie. I will see you in heaven.”

Simon Kirke added, “He was a dear friend, a wonderful songwriter, and an exceptional guitarist. We will miss him deeply.”

Ralphs is survived by his partner Susie Chavasse, his children, step-children, and bandmates Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, as well as millions of fans worldwide. He left such a huge mark on the world with his music and he will be missed by many.
