Beatboxer Mosaik: Exciting New Groovebox From Ex-Native Instruments Developers
Check out the Beatboxer Mosaik, an upcoming sample-based groovebox with a 64-step sequencer arranged around the screen.
Beatboxer Mosaik
Superbooth25 is coming up fast, and we’re already getting advanced news from the show. One that’s starting to make the rounds is Beatboxer Mosaik, a new groovebox with an unusual design.

Beatboxer is a new company from Germany made up of ex-members of Native Instruments and Nonlinear Labs, among others. That’s an impressive CV. Equally impressive-looking is the company’s first product, Mosaik, a “live performance groovebox,” in the words of the company.
64 Steps
More information will likely be revealed when Beatboxer debuts the Mosaik at Superbooth next week, but for now, it has released some tantalizing pictures and videos on its Instagram page and information on its homepage.

Beatboxer Mosaik is a groovebox with a 64-step sequencer with buttons arranged uniquely around the screen. One commenter on Instagram said it reminded them of the Zoom ARQ, although that one is round, not rectangular.
Mosaik also has 36 tracks, each with separate filter section (lowpass, peak and highpass), distortion, volume and pitch control, and independent tempo. You also get global reverb and delay effects.
As for the sound engine inside, the website doesn’t say explicitly, but it does mention that Beatboxer Mosaik has 256GB storage for samples. The presence of independent track pitch control also supports the idea that this is most likely a sample-based groovebox. The images seem to show a sample-based workflow as well.
Wood and Aluminum
As for the housing of the Beatboxer Mosaik, the company states that it’s made of wood and aluminum, suggesting it won’t be cheap. The display is also a touchscreen, suggesting something priced a little more premium than the usual groovebox.
Other features include:
- Software-controlled knobs and buttons with multi-color LED feedback
- Color-coded user interface
- Four-channel audio interface for main outs and phones
- USB, LAN, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity
Price and Availability
There’s no price or availability information as of yet. We’ll have boots on the ground at Superbooth, so stay tuned for more information.
