2HP never cease to amaze me. You can use the modules to pack an enormous amount of functionality, synthesis and modular happenings in the smallest of systems. The flip side is that it can get a bit fiddly in there. Once you have a few side-by-side access to the knobs can get a bit strained. However, being able to drop something awesome into a little 2HP space is completely fabulous. That’s what Slice is about.

With the 2HP Slice, you get a compact beat repeat and glitch engine that’s able to generate clickless stutters, digital glitches and trap-style fills. It’s like a machine that trips you out of your regular programming and introduces style, risk and unexpected finesse to your patch.

You patch your audio into the top, and the glitched-up result comes out the bottom. In between, you’ll want to patch in a clock to keep the repeats in line with your groove. The Gate input dictates when the beats will start repeating. It can be latched or momentary, and there’s a trigger button to activate it manually. The Size knob adjusts the repeat relative to the clock rate, and you can control that via CV if you wish. To get even more groovy, you can switch in a Triplet mode.

Slice is a super little glitch machine that you could easily leave patched in as a destination that you switch to for some momentary slicing. Good fun I think.
