VirtualDJ 2026 is now available via early access, offering some exciting new features for Atomix Productions’ DJ software. AI plays a crucial role, but don’t worry – you still have to do the mixing yourself!

Right on schedule, Atomix Productions is releasing VirtualDJ 2026, almost exactly one year after the 2025 version. The latest version comes with a host of new artificial intelligence-powered features.
VirtualDJ 2026 can now read lyrics from an audio file independently and display them as part of the waveform. This is not just a cool gimmick; it also has a practical function. It makes mixing tracks with vocals clearer. You can find the part you want more quickly and play it at the perfect moment. Last year, the StemSwapSampler was introduced. Combined with the new “insight” into the audio material, it allows for even more creative mixing.
The AIPrompt Folder is a new feature in VirtualDJ 2026 that brings the power of an LLM (large language model) directly to the DJ app. It’s essentially like having ChatGPT in VirtualDJ! However, it’s only a limited version, as you only get a basic AI assistant that helps you find, describe, and create lists of recommended tracks faster. Does that sound a little creepy? Of course, you don’t have to use this feature. The descriptions shown by the manufacturer in the image seem a little strange. This feature is only available to Pro license users, by the way.
The New FX Engine Offers Over 122 Effects – and Karaoke!
Even without AI, VirtualDJ 2026 has a lot to offer. How about a completely revamped FX engine? According to Atomix, it now offers over 122 effects and includes almost all of the effects from popular hardware, such as Pioneer DJ or Rane.
Now, let’s return to the new AI features in the DJ software update. The generated lyrics can be visualized with a video plugin, and the software can automatically create karaoke from audio tracks on request. That would be fun, wouldn’t it? Not only is karaoke fun, but I’m also sure that the automatic lyrics extraction sometimes produces nonsense. But maybe I’m wrong.
In any case, VirtualDJ 2026 looks like an update that all users will be happy about. In any case, the developers are proud and say: “True to our mission, VirtualDJ 2026 pushes the boundaries of what it means to be a modern DJ and introduces innovative features that will become the future norm.“
Availability and Price
VirtualDJ 2026 is a free upgrade for all users of the DJ app. You can download the software for free and use it without a controller to try it out. To use it with a controller, however, VirtualDJ must be purchased or rented on a subscription basis. You can find an overview of the prices here.
