TC has just announced its Vintage Guitar Pedal Native Plug-in Bundle for your DAW. The pack comprises all five of its vintage guitar effects, which are, apparently, all modelled down to component level.
Over 40 years of tone
This Danish company made these pedals over 40 years ago, beginning with the SCF chorus pedal. The range then grew gradually over time and eventually ended up with five core pedals, all of which were insanely popular and sadly long since no longer available.
The bundle includes recreations of the SCF, Booster, Dual EQ, Sustainer and XII Phaser pedals. There is also a crossgrade available for Powercore users which is only USD $49. There’s also an introductory USD $99 price up until the 28th May.
If you are running any of the major DAWs and use VST, AU or AAX then all you will need is an iLok key to download a 14 day free trial and you can go check them all out now.
The original TC guitar pedals were all well made and had a high quality build, giving guitarists studio-quality effects. They are still available on the used market, but change hands for a lot of money. This could be a very cheap way to acquire all five of the original pedals for a fraction of the cost of just one used original pedal.
It’s worth checking out that 14-day trial and demoing them on your system. They are available for Mac OSX and Windows systems, so you have no excuse to not try them (unless you of curse you don’t have an iLok). Many years ago, I owned the TC Powercore versions and they were pretty close approximations of the original pedals, but I never got the chance to A/B all five of them. But they were pretty useful to have in my DAW, and for this price I could possibly be tempted to buy them again.
RRP: USD 99 for a limited time and then up to USD 149 from 28th May
