Straightforward modules from Instruo this year. làrachd is a multi-function module that deals with interfacing external signals and cuïr is an output module.
làrachd actually means a range of operation, a marked effect, impression or impact. The module in question is a fully analogue multi-functional utility that offers various methods to bring external signals and interactions into your modular system as a useful and musical CV.
For starters, it can convert a stereo line-level input to dual mono audio at Eurorack levels. It has a condenser microphone built-in, like that on the arbhar. It’s also got an audio enhancer circuit with waveshaping and harmonic distortion, an envelope follower and a threshold comparator. Interestingly, you can use the module with an included dual footswitch interface.
Jason from Instruo goes into a lot of depth about làrachd in the video below. The footswitch in particular is really interesting. The A button controls a Gate and Trigger output. You can adjust the Trigger to be between 5ms and 500ms. Pushing the B button produces another Gate, but one that can be latched.
làrachd will be available for £319.
cuïr is a bit simpler and is essentially a fabulous looking output module. It takes a modular level input and throws out a balanced line-level signal suitable for speakers, recording or your audio interface. Secondly, there’s a headphone amplifier with its own level control.
cuïr will be available for £239.
Instruo at Superbooth
Undoubtedly there’s excitement around any Instruo releases. These two modules are perhaps less immediately impressive than those of other years but heck, there’s a footswitch and they are no less useful.
Instruo can be found on booth Z125.
