The new Mad Professor Dual Blue Delay has been developed by the Finnish company behind pedals like the Twimble overdrive and the Big Tweedy Drive. This one looks like it could offer a lot of useful delay sounds for players that need a versatile, modern dual delay pedal.
Dual Blue Delay
The Dual Blue Delay has two delay types onboard, a tape style short delay which has a maximum delay time of 315ms and a long delay which gives you a modern delay with up to 810ms of time. This makes it a pretty versatile pedal and one that covers a lot of bases.
The mode footswitch can be used to switch between the two delay voices or both channels can be combined for dual-delay sounds as well. You also get a tap tempo on the long delay voice, which makes it easy to use live and you can also keep the on/off switch depressed about one second, this then dials up a rhythmic multi-head mode. Apparently, you can also change the phase of the multi-head mode as well.
The pedal’s bypass mode can be either Buffered or True Bypass, making it easy to fit into different pedal setups and you can also use the wet-out if you just want to send your delay affected signal out separately as well.
I like that each delay has its own set of dedicated controls, plus the ability to run them together in parallel makes it very useable as well I feel. Both the demo videos below both sound good to my ear and all we have to do now is wait until September, which is when they are released.
Overall it looks like a fairly user-friendly experience that covers a lot of bases and should be one to check when they become available.
