More Information

The most significant new feature of Steinberg Wavelab 12 is a new ARA plugin that allows you to run Wavelab’s audio editor as a plugin in ARA-compatible DAWs like Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper, or Studio One. This means that you can now use Wavelab’s advanced editing features to edit audio in your favorite DAW during the production phase. Very nice!

Wavelab 12 also visualizes audio waveforms in multiple colors that correspond to the spectral content. This provides an immediate visual indication of the frequency content of a file, which can be very helpful in pinpointing specific sections or audio content. Furthermore, Wavelab 12 also adds transient markers automatically, thereby letting you snap the selection to transient points for quicker navigation and more efficient editing.

Other new Features and Plugins

Wavelab 12 also offers improved features for exchanging audio with other applications. You can now seamlessly transfer any audio range from Wavelab to any other software. There are no size limits or other restrictions to this. Moreover, all standard editing actions within Wavelab can now automatically be associated with crossfades, which can save a lot of time during the editing process.

Other key workflow improvements include automatic waveform zoom to peaks, synchronized audio file and montage navigation, and automatic loudness matching of reference tracks to the audio montage output and vice versa for accurate A/B comparisons.
