Spector Releases NC-4 Frank Bello Signature Bass: New York Bass Icons United
Including Frank's signature EMG pickups!
Anthrax’ bassist and Spector have teamed up for the NC-4 Frank Bello! Metallic Purple finish, matching headstock, Frank’s signature EMG pickups – this is one beautiful bass!
NC-4 Frank Bello
Bello has a long history of signature basses from companies like Charvel or ESP. With the NC-4 Frank Bello, Anthrax’s bassist is collaborating with a bass guitar specialist, namely Spector. This signature bass is a modern take on the classic American bolt-on design. Combining Spector’s craftsmanship with Bello’s decades of live experience, this bass delivers punch, clarity, and playability in a sleek, high-performance package.

The custom metallic purple “Tina Rose” finish – named in tribute to Bello’s mother and grandmother – adds a personal touch and stage-ready attitude, complete with a matching headstock and purple block inlays. It’s so touching to see him explain the origin of the finish, honoring his roots and the people who supported him the most.
The NC-4’s alder body and one-piece Maple neck provide a well-balanced tonal foundation with warmth, brightness, and articulation. In addition, the Maple fingerboard adds snap and precision, ideal for fast riffing and articulate runs, which is what we know and love from Anthrax. Also, the neck features a comfortable slim profile with a 16″ radius, 34″ scale length, 21 frets, and a brass nut with a 41.3 mm width—a setup built for precision and playability across the fretboard. A uniquely contoured neck heel and radiused top further enhance access and comfort.
Signature EMG Pickups
Additional hardware of the NC-4 Frank Bello bass includes vintage-style chrome tuners, a fully adjustable bridge, and nickel roundwound strings (.045–.105) straight from the factory. With chrome hardware throughout and an included gig bag, the bass guitar is ready to hit the road—built to handle the demands of professional touring while staying true to the legacy of one of metal’s most iconic bassists.

Regarding electronics, the bass features Frank’s signature EMG pickup set (PCSX Frank Bello Split-Coil in neck position, LJAX Frank Bello Single Coil at the bridge) delivering the tight lows and midrange growl required for heavy music. With two volume knobs and a master tone control, the control layout is streamlined and intuitive, allowing quick adjustments on the fly – no distractions, just tone.
