The Soundboks Lightboks is the latest creation from the Danes who are famous for their portable PA speakers. The Lightboks doesn’t make any noise; instead, it creates the perfect lighting atmosphere for your party. The small, battery-powered light effect is designed for mobility, so you can take it with you wherever you go.

This is the somewhat dry description given to the Soundboks Lightboks at Thomann: an LED spotlight. While that description is technically accurate, we want to add a little more sparkle to this new “bling-bling.”
The Soundboks Lightboks is the missing link for your party, especially if you’re a fan of Soundboks’ mobile PA speakers. That’s because the Lightboks follows a similar concept. It’s battery-powered, portable, and just a little more than your typical party light.
According to the Danish manufacturer, the quality of the color mixing is comparable to professional lighting, with the added bonus of “different levels of intensity.” Setup is quick and easy, and you can control everything via an app.
Sticking with comparisons, unlike professional lighting for events, the Soundboks Lightboks does not use DMX but rather its own system called TeamUp. This means several Lightboks can connect wirelessly to each other.
Audio-Reactive Lighting Effects and App Control
Another important feature is the built-in microphone, which listens to the music and creates light shows synchronized to the sound and beat. These effects are designed to accompany “hands-up” moments and smooth transitions visually.
Perhaps the most important aspect is portability. The Soundboks Lightboks is portable and battery-powered, so the 7 x 12 W RGBW party effect can be used anywhere. The integrated 44.16-Wh battery is said to provide up to 13 hours of operation at maximum light output.
Designed for outdoor use, the light is IP65-rated for protection against dust and water. The manufacturer also promises a robust construction for the 1.75-kilogram light – just in case someone takes “drop” a little too literally.
The accompanying app offers three “energy levels” and ten color palettes, and a Bluetooth BLE connection ensures connectivity.
