Pubbas Sheepadoodle Phaser: The Most Versatile Free Phaser Plugin?
Sheepadoodle by Pubbas is a free phaser plugin with a twist. According to the developer, it was designed to invite creativity and exploration through intuitive controls.
In addition to the essential phaser controls – number of notches, Rate, Depth, Feedback, and Mix – Sheepadoodle offers a range of other features for sound shaping and creative sound design. You can switch between sine and triangle waves for modulation, sync the effect to your DAW tempo, and adjust the stereo width. The Spread parameter controls the distribution of the filter notches to apply the effect to a wide or narrow frequency band. A handy visualizer provides a visual impression of what the phaser is doing.
But that’s still not all. In addition, Sheepadoodle offers a built-in distortion module. Turn up the Anger slider to add frequency-modulated distortion, and adjust the width of the distortion band using the Spray slider. This thing not only looks great, it also does a lot more than just phasing!
Sheepadoodle is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.

You can choose between a Clean mode for transparent VCA compressor, a Classic mode that mimics a FET compressor, an Optical mode for smooth leveling, and a Vocal mode. With fully adjustable Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Makeup, Knee, and Curve parameters, ZL Compressor gives you precise control over the dynamics of your signals.
Another standout feature is the sidechain input, which is equipped with a full 8-band equalizer and an interactive spectrum display. This makes it easy to make the compressor react to specific frequencies. There’s also a built-in Peak/RMS analyzer to keep an eye on the dynamics.
ZL Compressor is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3, AU, and LV2 formats.
Kuassa TilQ: Free Tilt EQ for Quick Sound Shaping
A tilt EQ such as Kuassa TilQ is a quick and easy way to control the tone of any audio signal. It affects the highs and lows at the same time: Turn the knob to the left to boost the lows and attenuate the highs, and vice versa.
But TilQ gives you more control than that. You can also adjust the center frequency and Q, and there are sweepable high pass and low pass filters for additional sound shaping.
