Ola Englund has been rather busy, what with his new Solar Guitars brand launching at the end of last year and now the Randall Signature Satan 50 amp head bearing his name. The YouTube star has been forging associations with some pretty cool guitar equipment of late.

You would expect this 50-Watt Satan amp head to dish out crushing metal tones, as Ola is infamous on YouTube for his love of the genre and I doubt that it will disappoint. The specifications are pretty decent, as it was designed in conjunction with Mike Fortin who is renowned for designing high-gain, metal-orientated amp circuits, as is Randall.
Twin Channel Metal Machine
This amp is a twin channel affair powered by a set of three 12AX7 preamp valves and two 6L6 power amp valves. Tried and tested stuff, pretty much what you would expect from a 50-Watt head. Each channel has its own Master Volume and EQ, so no compromises there. There’s also a boost labelled Kill. The Satan amps have power amp Presence and Depth controls, so you can tune the head’s top and bottom frequencies to taste.
An onboard effects loop can be set to either passive or series return and has an adjustable send level. You also get a two-button footswitch for channel and kill switching. The rear panel has an effects loop switching input as well.
It all sounds good on paper and could be a pretty decent metal amp. They aren’t out until a bit later in the year with an expected shipping date of somewhere in Q2 2018. From the official video below, it is pretty clear that the Satan is more than capable of dishing out ‘ze brutals‘ when required, so something to look forward to this year for all you metalheads!
