PRS Fiore HH
This new Fiore HH from PRS Guitars takes Mark Lettieri’s signature guitar in a new tonal direction. It is now offered with two custom-designed Fiore-H humbuckers, made especially for him by PRS.
They are described by PRS as offering ‘enough power and punch for high-gain lead tones but with a smooth top end that allows the pickup to be played clean, even with the volume knob wide open’ and are unique to this signature guitar.
Eight Tones – No Hum!
The Fiore HH guitar offers eight sound options via its two pickups and controls. It has a Master Volume and a 3-way pickup switch with two Tone knobs with push/pull to change the sound of each pickup individually: Pushed Down (Series) – Full and Powerful: Gives you the classic, thick Humbucker sound. This tone is warm, full of bass and midrange, and has a clear high end.
Pulled Up (Parallel) – Bright and Sparkling: the sound becomes clearer and lighter, much like a bright single-coil pickup. It has a slightly thinner, more brilliant, and scooped feel.
As no coils are split, this design avoids any extra potential hum, so a great guitar for stage and studio.
Construction
These models come with Swamp Ash bodies with a bolt-on 25.5” scale length maple neck with the Fiore neck shape and a rosewood fretboard fitted with 22 frets. The original 2021 signature models launched with maple fretboards, so there are more differences besides the dual humbuckers for 2025.
Gloss & Satin Finishes
They are available in satin and gloss nitrocellulose finishes. Satin models are available in Black Hyacinth, Metallic Midnight, Red Apple Metallic, and Sunflower. The Gloss version is available in Amaryllis, Pearl White, Sugar Moon, and Sunflower.
Hardware includes the PRS 2-Point Steel Tremolo and a set of PRS Vintage-Style Locking Tuners.
FAQ – PRS Fiore HH
What is the PRS Fiore HH?
The PRS Fiore HH is a new version of the signature model guitar for Mark Lettieri. It is an addition to the existing Fiore family but features a dual-humbucker (HH) pickup configuration, differentiating it from the original.
How is the Fiore HH different from the original PRS Fiore?
The main differences are in the Fiore Humbucker pickups and the fretboard wood.
What do the series/parallel controls do?
Series (Knob Pushed Down): Gives you the full humbucker sound. This is a warm, thick tone with full lows and mids, and an articulate top end.
Parallel (Knob Pulled Up): Gives you a brighter, more single-coil-like sparkle. This tone is slightly scooped with more brilliance.
Is the original PRS Fiore still available?
Yes. The original Fiore model (with the single-single-hum configuration) remains available in the PRS Bolt-On Series catalog.
What finish options are available for the Fiore HH?
The Fiore HH is available in both gloss and satin finishes.
Conclusion
I like this update to the signature model, as having a hum/hum option for switching avoids extra noise, and the Series/Parallel switching handles it. It was already a great bolt-on neck guitar, and now there are new tonal options to explore with this dual-humbucker version.
Having both gloss and satin finish options is also a nice touch.
