Free Plugins of the Week
Polarity-Glue: Free SSL-inspired Bus Compressor

After Polarity-MD and Polarity-RES, Polarity Productions is back with Polarity-Glue, a free SSL-inspired bus compressor. Use it to pull together your drum bus, instrument groups, or whole mixes, adding punch and cohesion while letting the audio breathe.
Polarity-Glue features the familiar controls of any SSL-style bus compressor: Threshold, Attack, Ratio, Release, and Makeup Gain. There’s also an Auto Makeup feature with a Learn button that listens to the material for two seconds and adjusts the gain accordingly.
In addition, Polarity-Glue offers a Range knob, a Mix knob for parallel processing, and a sidechain filter. An external sidechain input is also available. I also really like the waveform view, which provides a good visual representation of what’s going on.
Polarity-Glue is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3, CLAP, and AU formats.
VAS Reverse Reverb: Turn any Sample into a Riser

Similar to RVRSE, VAS Reverse Reverb is a free tempo-synced reverse reverb that can turn any sample (or any audio snippet, for that matter) into a reverse riser in a matter of seconds. You can either load a sample or use the Capture function to record audio directly into the plugin. The sample is then reverberated, reversed, and timestretched to match the tempo of your track.
You can shape the sound using the Low Cut and Width controls, and apply a tremolo effect for extra movement if desired. The length of the riser can be set in bars and beats, making it easy to create sounds that fit your production. The Decay Time, Room Size, and Dry/Wet Mix are also adjustable. When you’re done, you can drag the finished sound to an audio track in your DAW for further processing if needed. Straightforward and very useful!
VAS Reverse Reverb is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
Analog Obsession ToneShaper: Passive Tone and Body Control

ToneShaper by Analog Obsession does just what it says: this free plugin lets you quickly adjust the tone and body of your material. The Tone knob is a passive high-shelf-like tone control that will make the sound darker or brighter. The Body knob shapes the low-mid and mid frequencies. In addition, ToneShaper features an Output control with a clean boost, which lets you compensate for the gain loss caused by the passive design. No frills, three knobs, many uses.
ToneShaper is available for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
