Pioneer DJ XPRS2 Series

AlphaTheta Corporation has announced the expansion of its Pioneer DJ XPRS2 series, adding two new full-range speakers and replacing the previous subs with two new ones. The new lineup includes the 8” XPRS82 and 15” XPRS152 full-range units plus two new upgraded active subwoofers: the 15” XPRS1152ST and 18” XPRS1182ST. Accordingly, this brings the series to a full six speakers including the original 10” XPRS102 and 12” XPRS122 full-range units.

The natural audience for the series is of course DJs but AlphaTheta is also positioning them as general live music speakers for clubs and churches. “Just like the previous models,” said Remco van Megen, Head of Sales EMEA, AlphaTheta, “each of the new units produces the rich, dynamic sound that artists and venues crave and their audiences enjoy.”

Pioneer DJ XPRS2 Series: Class D Amplification

All of the speakers in the series employ Class D amplification and high-output wattage. This means the XPRS82 and XPRS152 full-range speakers feature Class D 2000 W amplification. Additionally, the XPRS1152ST and XPRS1182ST subwoofers offer Class D 4000 W amplification.

Build quality looks to be solid as well. They all feature all-black plywood cabinets, rubber feet for separation and shock absorption, plus a handle (two on the subs) for easy transport.

The two new full-range units, the XPRS82 and XPRS152, both have four DSP modes, including Live, Music, Speech, and Monitor. You can also program up to 16 of your own DSP models complete with custom names.
