OneOdio Studio Max 2: Next Gen Wireless DJ Headphones Boast 9ms Latency for Under $200
OneOdio’s Studio Max 2 headphones bring latency down to 9ms and improve the wireless bitrate, and all for a very affordable price. Should AIAIAI and AlphaTheta be worried?
OneOdio Studio Max 2
The wireless DJ headphone market is surprisingly small. There’s AlphaTheta and its HDJ-F10, while AIAIAI offers the TMA-2 DJ Wireless. Both are well-respected, but they’re not what you’d call cheap. OneOdio is a relatively new headphone company out of Hong Kong that’s trying to bring affordability to the wireless DJ headphone market. Studio Max 2 represents its latest endeavor, and if you dismissed the first rev as too slow, it might be time to look (and listen) again.

9ms of Latency
With wireless DJ headphones, it’s all about speed. Bluetooth won’t work when beatmatching; you’ll find yourself constantly off beat and frustrated. The lower the latency, the better the experience. OneOdio’s first attempt at wireless DJ cans, Studio Max 1, could transmit with 20ms of latency. Now, Studio Max 2 can do it in 9ms, bringing them in line with both AlphaTheta’s and AIAIAI’s headphones.

Additionally, OneOdio is promising lossless 2.4G transmission quality with its Studio Max 2 headphones, with an improved wireless bitrate of 400kbps as compared to the 160kbps of the first generation.
There are four connectivity modes. These include the 10m-range wireless via the included M2 transmitter, Bluetooth 6.0 (including a dedicated Bluetooth gaming mode that further reduces latency for “more accurate rendering of in-game sound effects, directional cues and environmental audio,” according to OneOdio), and 3.5mm and 6.35mm connected modes.
Sound Specs
In terms of sound specs, the latest Studio Max headphones feature a 45mm dynamic driver and studio-grade magnet capable of reproducing frequencies from 20Hz to 40kHz, with 34 ohms of impedance and a maximum sound pressure level of 118dB.

The headphones hold dual Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless certifications while supporting LDAC high-definition audio decoding, enabling high-resolution listening in both wired and wireless modes.
The headphones also include a dedicated app, which provides customized sound settings, personalized EQ adjustments, connection mode preferences, and audio parameters, as well as a Find My Headphones mode for when you’ve had a few too many pre-set drinks and can’t remember where you put your headphones.
120 Hours of Use
As with the previous generation of Studio Max, these new headphones boast a very robust battery life of 120 hours of use. The M2 transmitter isn’t as powerful but will still net you 50 hours. Charging requires 2.5 hours or less, according to OneOdio, with its 1000 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery “engineered for consistent output across regular and intensive usage patterns.”
