Ohma World Microphones are Now at Thomann!
Customizable condenser and ribbon mics with a unique look.
Ohma World Microphones offer something completely different, adding character to your recording process in a whole new way. Inspired by vintage designs, these mics are completely customizable with interchangeable screens for both practical and aesthetic purposes.
Ohma World is an LGBTQ-owned company from East Los Angeles, California, that believes in making freedom of expression a core aspect of the design of its audio products.

To make your choice a little easier, the mics come in two options:
- The Ohma Condenser, built with a handmade capsule and a vintage Cinemag transformer

OR
- The Ohma Ribbon, with active circuitry and a custom Lehle transformer

Once you’ve decided, the next step is where the fun really begins. From here, you can choose between 5 different ready-made mics, each with its own unique screen set (also available separately).
You can also spec your own bespoke microphone, with personal customization options for both the body and screen colour, the screen design, and the fabric colour.
What’s more, the bottom screen can feature your own personalized logo or simple graphic, making the mic truly unique.

Both the top and bottom mic screens of each mic are interchangeable, and each screen set has its own acoustic characteristics that make it preferable for different applications. Simply unclip them with the included guitar pick, and you can snap in a different screen for your mic.

Overall, this is a novel idea for a microphone design and will surely appeal to streamers, content creators, or anyone using visual aesthetics as part of their operation.
The recording crowd will be harder to win over, as these popsicles will really have to earn their keep to compete in the mic locker. However, we’ve welcomed wacky ideas like 12-Gauge Microphones to the space in the past. So who’s to say that Ohma World mics won’t sound as good as they look?
