Queen Elmyra picks up where Elmyra left off. Like the compact predecessor, the new Queen is a drone synth controlled by touch plates – but that’s pretty much where the similarities end. You can tell from a distance that this thing means business.

More Information

Queen Elmyra has eight voices with up to three digital wavetable oscillators each. The oscillators can operate in several modes (quantized, microtonal, or chords). There’s also a pair of analog multi-mode filters, which can be linked to make a stereo filter.

Speaking of stereo: the effects are in stereo, too, offering loads of possibilities for wide ambient textures and earth-shattering drones. There are two effect slots per voice, which can be filled with a suite of digital effects, including delay, reverb, chorus, phaser, filter, distortion, and more. In addition, Queen Elmyra even features a pair of tubes mysteriously gleaming through the window in the center, which provide stereo analog saturation and distortion.

The impressive patch panel with no less than 96 patch points allows for CV control of every single parameter, including the voices, filters, and effects. This also lets you turn any voice into a versatile modulation source that controls the other voices or effects. What’s more, each voice also has its own sequencer.

In addition to a balanced stereo output and a headphone jack, Queen Elmyra offers individual outputs for each voice, so you can use the voices as independent monophonic synths if you like. There’s also MIDI In/Out, Clock In/Out, and a Reset input for the sequencers.

Price and Availability

Neutral Labs Queen Elmyra is now available for pre-order via Kickstarter. At the time of writing, some early bird specials for €1,500 were still available. When they’re gone, the regular Kickstarter price will be €1,600. Neutral Labs plans to ship in October 2026.
