LR Baggs has told us about two new additions to its Align pedal series, namely a chorus and a delay. Like the other pedals in this line, these stompboxes are specifically tailored for the acoustic guitar.
LR Baggs Align Series Chorus
First up is the LR Baggs Align Series Chorus. This is set up to make it as easy to use as possible. The controls are as follows: Volume, Tone, Chorus and Size. That’s about as simple as it gets, which I always appreciate with effects pedals.
The Size knob allows you to blend two chorus voicings which that interact with each. It is really the only control on here that needs any explanation. I would recommend checking the video demo below to get an impression of what this pedal sounds like.

LR Baggs Align Series Delay
Next up we have the new LR Baggs Align Series Delay. This one has a few more controls, but remains fairly simple. The pedal also has a handy tap tempo function, letting you quickly change the delay time on the fly.
The controls are as follows: Delay, Repeats, Tone (this one only affects the delay trails) and Time, plus two switches; Div sets the delay to dotted-eighth divisions of the current tempo while Tap lets you set the delay tempo manually.
Overall, if you are an acoustic player and need a delay then this one will be hard to ignore, as it is tailored specifically for you. I think the Align Series Delay is my favourite of the two, but then I don’t use chorus much these days.
