Music Man StingRay Dustin Kensrue: Daiquiri Ice Finish for Thrice’s Vocalist
Made in the USA, ready to rock
Is it a Jazzmaster? Or A Jaguar? Music Man’s offset model, the StingRay Dustin Kensure, offers the best of both worlds. Handcrafted, made in the USA, the new color Daiquiri Ice is a sight to behold.
Music Man StingRay Dustin Kensrue

The Music Man StingRay Dustin Kensrue is the result of a creative collaboration between Music Man and vocalist, songwriter and Thrice rhythm guitarist Dustin Kensrue. Its design is a nod to either a Fender Jaguar or Jazzmaster shape.

There are a few details worth mentioning. At its core, the StingRay has a body made from selected Okoumé, which offers a particularly warm and clear sound. The maple neck comes with a beautiful, dark satin finish (asymmetrical C profile: thickness at first fret: 21 mm, at twelfth fret: 24 mm) and a rosewood fretboard.
Plus, you get the typical 4-2-tuners Music Mac headstock and, most notably, the Daiquiri Ice finish. Previously only available in TV Blonde (yellow-golden) or Dark Satin Tobacco Burst, the light green color of this new StingRay Dustin Kensrue signature guitar gives off an almost tropical, indie-pop kind of vibe.
Custom Pickups and Optional Stereo Mode
The signature model comes with two pickups, a Custom Music Man Alnico Single Coil at the neck and a Custom Music Man Alnico Humbucker at the bridge. You get a singular concentric volume/tone knob and a three-way switch to change or combine the pickups.

There is also a unique stereo push-button that, when engaged, routes each pickup directly to the jack. The humbucker’s signal is sent to the tip and the single coil’s signal goes to the ring, so when you connect a TRS cable, you’ll get a stereo signal! That way, you can either go full-stereo on your board, directly from the source, or send the signal to different amps for tonal versatility.
With regard to hardware, the StingRay Dustin Kenrue includes a modern tremolo with vintage bent steel saddles, and Schaller M6-IND locking tuners. This whole thing just oozes premium quality and endless sonic versatility.
