Mooer MSC50 Pro: It Doesn’t Get More Disco Than That!
ST-Model with Dashing Looks and Affordable Price!
The Chinese manufacturer is expanding its highly successful MSC series. Following the entry-level models MSC10 Pro and the mid-range MSC20 Pro, the new Mooer MSC50 Pro comes out today. Visually, it’s a real feast for the eyes, and compared to its predecessors, the materials used have been taken up a notch.
Mooer MSC50 Pro: Shiny St-Style Model
While the looks of the four guitars of the MSC20 Pro series were already a sight to behold, the Mooer MSC50 Pro goes even further. The finish, called Magic Crystal, shimmers, glitters, and spreads disco vibes in a way that Chic couldn’t have done better, complete with a matching headstock. Pretty… chic!

Mooer has used better materials in almost every respect compared to the other two series. For instance, they chose alder for the body instead of poplar, and rosewood for the fretboard instead of jatoba. The neck (standard C profile) is again roasted maple, as in the smaller models.
The numbers are pretty standard: 25.5“ scale length, 12” fretboard radius, 22 silver nickel frets. The model comes factory-equipped with a bone saddle and a set of thing strings (9 – 46). Add to that the transparent pickguard, and the MSC50 Pro looks absolutely spectacular!
Chrome Looks
The hardware has to be just as impressive with such a sparkling finish. Naturally, everything has a chrome look, starting with the MPW 2-Point Tremolo bridge. The Mooer MSC50 Pro also features MTN-3LC locking tuners. That’s quite a statement in this price range.

The strat’s electronics feature two MSC-II single coils in the neck and middle pickup positions. In addition, Mooer has opted for an MHB-II B humbucker at the bridge. The controls include global controls for volume and tone, and a five-way switch.

And if you’re going for the bell-sounds of an original strat, you can coil-split the humbucker to a third single coil. Of course, it remains to be seen how the model’s workmanship, sound, and playability will turn out. But on paper, for this price, you’ve got a model that can give Squier and the likes a run for their money.
How Much Does The Mooer MSC50 Pro Cost?
You can get the Mooer MSC50 Pro at Thomann* for 399 euros, including a Mooer gig bag. However, you’ll have to be a bit patient until delivery with an estimated 12 to 15 weeks waiting time.
