This Koch Amps tube combo is a compact, single-channel Class A amp with a power switch for 4 or 12 watts, which makes it ideal for both home recording and small gigs. It’s powered by one EL34 in the power amp and one 12AX7 in the preamp, delivering warm, dynamic tube tones with excellent responsiveness.
Designed for guitarists who want authentic tube sound without the complexity that some manufacturers tend to cram into their amps, the Durango 12 Combo delivers everything from clean sparkle to gritty overdrive with a very natural and dynamic response. In addition, the custom VG12-60 12″ speaker ensures tight low-end, smooth mids, and articulate highs.
Simple Controls, Advanced Features
The control layout is super straightforward: Gain, Master, Tone, and Reverb. A switch for boosting the gain adds flexibility for heavier tones. The built-in reverb sounds natural and musical, blending well without overwhelming the signal. The amp reacts well to pedalboards and guitar volume dynamics.
While simple at its core, a few modern features make the Durango perfect for recording sessions. A dedicated output with optional speaker simulation lets you capture the full tube tone directly to your interface. Plus, the internal dummy load means you can play or record silently with no cab connected.
