Kaltern Pop Festival 2025: 10 Years of Music, Culture, and Special Encounters
The Anniversary Edition has a Special Flair
From October 23 to 25, 2025, the Kaltern Pop Festival’s anniversary edition will transform the idyllic South Tyrolean wine village into a cultural meeting place for three days. It’s clear that this tenth edition will be a special event. Musicians and music fans from around the globe will gather between the wine museum, the Franciscan church, and the legendary ballroom of the Grand Hotel Penegal. In recent years, the festival has proven that it is more than just another event in the packed autumn calendar. It has its own unique flair that extends far beyond the region.
The Kaltern Pop Festival will Kick Off with a Strong Anniversary Program
The diversity of the program is particularly exciting. The festival remains true to its mission of crossing boundaries and interweaving different styles. Singer-songwriters share the stage with post-punk bands, choirs sing alongside electronic projects, and even brass music has a place. Anyone who has ever attended knows the special feeling that comes with experiencing different genres unfold in unusual places. This is precisely where the festival’s strength lies; it creates an atmosphere that embodies both intimacy and internationality.
This year’s motto, “The light is still on in the kitchen,” fits the festival’s character perfectly. It reminds us that music brings people together, whether in a family circle, at a spontaneous session, or on a big stage. Stefan Reichmann, the artistic director and mastermind behind the Kaltern Pop Festival, describes music as a creative spark that arises at the edges of the familiar. In Kaltern, this concept becomes tangible because the focus is not just on presenting a lineup, but on fostering connections between artists and audiences.
South Tyrol Becomes a Paradise of Sound
The program looks impressive again this year. Acts such as Cantus Domus, Silvana Estrada, Sun Kil Moon, and Maxjoseph have already been confirmed. They will be joined by Ellis.D, Soft Loft, Lava Lovers, and Fiona-Lee, who will bring new inspiration. The Saturday matinee in the ballroom of the Grand Hotel Penegal, high above the village where Empress Sissi once danced, is particularly charming. Those who experienced the joint performance by Gisbert zu Knyphausen and Cantus Domus last year know how intimate music can feel in this special setting.
In addition to the music, the Kaltern Pop Festival invites you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. At the end of October, South Tyrol reveals its tranquil side. The tourist crowds have dispersed, yet the landscape surrounding Lake Kaltern remains ideal for hiking and cycling. Wine bars and restaurants are open, and there are numerous opportunities to combine the festival with a short vacation, from simple guesthouses to upscale hotels. This transforms a concert visit into a complete experience that combines culture, enjoyment, and relaxation.

Kaltern Pop Festival: Anniversary Edition with a Special Motto
Its steadily growing fan base shows that this festival is more than just a musical event. Over the years, Kaltern Pop has developed its own unique character, characterized by a mixture of international flair and local roots. Tickets are traditionally in high demand (€99 for a three-day ticket and €39 for a one-day ticket), which is hardly surprising given the anniversary. If you want to attend, don’t wait too long because the special atmosphere of the small venues thrives on proximity and exclusivity.
