Jackson has just officially released the new Marty Friedman signature model in a head-turning finish. This amazing looking Pro Series Signature MF-1 Purple Mirror is bound to get you noticed on stage. And because it’s a Marty Friedman model, you know the specs won’t be bad either.

Jackson Marty Friedman Pro Series Signature MF-1 Purple Mirror

The latest Jackson signature model guitar for Marty Friedman, the MF-1 Purple Mirror, is part of the company’s Pro Series range. This single-cut style guitar comes in a very striking cracked mirrored purple finish that is sure to make people turn their heads.

This 24.75″ scale length model consists of a mahogany body with a three-ply white/abalone/white binding. You also get a traditional set mahogany neck with a scarf joint. It is strengthened with graphite-reinforcement rods so tuning should be rock solid, and comes with a nicely bound 12″ radius, 22-fret ebony fretboard with pearloid block inlays.

Hardware is all black and includes a Jackson TOM-style adjustable bridge with an anchored tailpiece, plus a reverse Jackson 3×3 AT-1 black headstock. So it has lots of little modern flourishes added to the traditional ’50s singlecut recipe.

EMG Passive

As it is Marty’s signature guitar, it comes with a set of his passive EMG MF signature humbucking pickups. These are then wired via two volume and tone controls and a three-way pickup selector switch. Overall, this new signature model may be a bit strange to some, with its purple cracked mirror finish. But if anyone can pull it off, it would be Friedman, who has the licks to back it up!

I’m wondering if his old Megadeth boss, Dave Mustaine is also going to get a new signature model this year as well? When they played together, they were at the top of their game, with both players pretty phenomenal on the guitar. Marty has always stood out with his unique phrasing and almost eastern feel, and this new model looks like it would suit his style well.
