Jackson presents the American Series Rhoads RR24: Honoring Randy’s Legacy
Floyd Rose and Hardtail options available!

With the American Series Roads RR24 and its hardtail variant, the offset Flying V body shape developed by Randy Rhoads is making its return to Jackson’s American series. Five models, three colors, and metal vibes galore.
American Series Rhoads RR24: Shred Until You’re Dead
Visually speaking, the American Series Rhoads RR24 is obviously geared towards metal. That being said, I would absolutely love to see this model being used by a jazz combo or a pop cover band. Because we need more metal everywhere, not just in metal!

In any case, Jackson draws on the iconic design of the the signature model created with legend Randy Rhoads, guitar god in Ozzy’s solo band. The design might not be new, but it’s still brutal, eye-catching, and visually striking.

We will get to the differences in hardware between the RR24 and RR24 HT in detail shortly, but what they all have in common is the alder body, the 25.5″ scale length, the reverse headstock, which fits the body shape just perfectly, and the three-piece maple neck with graphite reinforcement. Speaking of the neck: 24 stainless steel jumbo frets, ebony fretboard with compound radius (12 to 16 inches), and inverted mother-of-pearl sharkfin inlays. These compliment the guitar’s looks so well!
Hardware: Floyd Rose vs. Hardtail
There are two different sub-series with the American Series Roads RR24: one with a Floyd Rose tremolo and one with a Hipshot hardtail bridge. Dive bombers will love the recessed Floyd Rose double locking tremolo from the 1500 series. Bend, slide and hammer all you want, that thing stays in tune.

For those who prefer an even more stable tuning or may be concerned about the somewhat different workflow when changing strings with a Floyd Rose system, there are two models with a Hipshot hardtail bridge. All models feature locking tuners (Gotoh MG-T), as it should be in this price range.

In terms of electronics, these guitars come with two Seymour Duncan humbuckers, a JB model at the bridge and a ’59 in the neck position. This is a purist high-gain affair. The master volume and master tone are the only controls, along with a three-way switch for changing and combining.
