Using adaptive unmasking and exponential algorithms from iZotope, Equinox combines the Stratus and Symphony reverb engines in one intuitive reverb processor. With iZotope’s dynamic unmasking technology, Equinox can create the bandwidth for your reverb sound with perfect clarity and separation from the dry signal.
As a mixing tool, Equinox offers complete immersive compatibility, with a straightforward multichannel workflow, perfect for any stage of your production, including sound design, dialogue editing, music score, and final mix. What’s more, you can import the presets from the Stratus 3D and Symphony 3D plugins and even replace the instances of the two older plugins automatically in your Pro Tools projects.
As you’d expect from iZotope, the interface design is excellent, allowing you to quickly cycle through the sound shaping controls necessary to dial in and perfect your reverb for any application. With the filter section, you can set the frequency range of your early reflections and reverb with a choice of six filters.
In addition, you have access to chorus, drive, compression, and gate effects, each with its own bypass function, so you can select and tune the effect precisely before adding another into your chain. While the controls are extensive and the preset library has over 1250 patches, Equinox doesn’t come across as an overwhelmingly technical plugin. Instead, it’s the perfect partner for creating a wide range of reverb effects, with amazing creative potential.
