Arbhar

This is a granular processor that chops samples into tiny grains for scattering, pitching, shaping, reversing and layering. You can sample directly into the module and then scan and manipulate the grains, or you can use the waveforms as a wavetable oscillator. You can record up to 6 layers of sampling with 10 seconds of recording time for layer upon layer of sound crafting. You can go in through the inputs or via the built-in condenser microphone.

Arbhar is about realtime sampling and manipulation, there’s no card slot for loading library or any ability to create or save presets. This is sampling in the moment, creating on the fly and enjoying the granular possibilities.

Lubadh

This brings the flavour of a dual tape machine to Eurorack. Two identical channels let you record, playback, overdub, trim, scan and pitch audio for up to 6 minutes per channel. The input circuit adds compression, filtering and saturation for that authentic tape feel and you can even get your fingers in there to warp and stall the playback heads.

Both of these modules are wonderfully designed and so different from anything else I’ve come across. They cross over into the world of modular art and offer some really interesting pathways into modular-based sampling and manipulation.

Both these modules are available for preorder for £499 and should be delivered by Christmas.
