Harley Benton’s new Aeolus offers should offer players sweet semi-hollow tone in a single-cut package, and has some pretty stunning features for the price point, including stainless steel frets and locking tuners.

Harley Benton Aeolus

This new semi-hollow electric model from Harley Benton is called the Aeolus. The two variants differ only on the finish, one with a glossy Bengal Flame and the other in a Frost Flame satin finish, both applied over a AAA flame maple veneer top. The main body uses mahogany and the C-shaped neck is made of roasted flame maple with a smooth satin finish that should be nice and fast, plus a great looking roasted maple fingerboard.

The neck on the Aeolus is loaded with 22 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets and has subtle Pearloid white dot fret markers on the fingerboard. This model has great-looking body neck joint that should give good upper fret access, which I think is always welcome. You also have a handy spoke wheel truss rod adjuster and glow-in-the-dark side dots, along with a Graphtech TUSQ Black nut – all nice premium features for a working instrument.

Tesla Humbuckers

The twin humbuckers are a set of Tesla VR-2 Alnico 5 for the bridge and neck positions, wired up via a three-way toggle switch, plus a single master volume and tone control. You also get a handy push/pull coil split, which really opens up your tonal possibilities with this semi-hollow.

The hardware also includes a set of locking Grover tuners and a WSC Tune-O-Matic style bridge and tailpiece. If you are looking for a good all-around semi-hollow electric guitar and are on a budget, then this new Harley Benton Aeolus Frost Flame is certainly one to check out, as you are getting a lot of bang for your buck, including and some sweet pro hardware.
