The new Fender MonoNeon Jazz Bass V is the latest signature model from the brand and actually offers something refreshing for once. This Neon Yellow and Orange finish Jazz Bass is as quirky as the artist it was made for.
MonoNeon Jazz Bass V
This Fender MonoNeon Jazz Bass V looks very eye-catching in the Neon Yellow and Orange finish. The Jazz Bass V model is a right-handed model, though MonoNeon plays it upside down and left-handed.
It has an alder body paired with a roasted maple Modern C-profile neck and a 10″-14″ compound radius fretboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets with a set of White Pearl block inlays. All the hardware, including the Fender HiMass bridge, is gold-plated.
It comes powered by a pair of Custom Fireball 5-String Bass humbucking pickups and comes complete with an onboard 18v Active Preamp paired with a 3-Band EQ. Making it a versatile instrument with plenty of tonal options to hand. The control layout consists of a Master Volume, Pan Pot (Pickup Selector), Treble Boost/Cut, Midrange Boost/Cut, Bass Boost/Cut and the Active/Passive mini toggle switch.
The layout looks tidy and doesn’t detract from the look. It’s a neat setup and I am guessing a very versatile one.
The Fender MonoNeon includes some interesting ‘case candy’ with this signature bass. Including a MonoNeon sticker pack and custom headstock sock!
I actually think that for such a unique bass that the price is about right. It will be popular with anyone that loves bold neon colours, and fans of MonoNeon. The official Fender videos are well worth watching as well. One of them even has the legendary George Clinton as a narrator.
