Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe: The Blues Signature Returns in Delta Day Edition
Updated signature in Daphne Blue with custom humbuckers!
About three years after the Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe was first released, Fender is showing a new version of the luxury signature model. The wood and exquisite craftsmanship remain the same, but this Tele comes in a new color and with new pickups: Delta Day!
Fender Kingish Delta Day Telecaster Deluxe
Christone “Kingfish” Ingram is and remains the blues prodigy of today. The sound and feeling he gets out of his Tele make every blues fan weak at the knees! And Fender, still going strong in its rejuvenation process, didn’t wait long, three years ago. The original Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe brought only the finest of the finest with a magnificent Mississippi Night Finish.
Today, the Signature is being reissued with the same inner values (see below). For the Delta Day edition, however, Ingram has teamed up with Fender to choose a new color: Daphne Blue. In addition, this model comes with two Custom Kingfish humbuckers. You can get this version for €2,929.00 at Thomann*.
Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe and pickups launched

[August 16, 2022] The Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe is the new signature model for Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and is accompanied by the release of a set of signature humbucking pickups as well.
Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe
This new Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe is a new signature guitar model for blues player Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. The guitar comes finished in a cool purple Mississippi Night Finish and looks pretty fancy. Based on a Telecaster Deluxe body shape, just with an Adjusto-Matic style hardtail, rather than a standard Tele bridge.
It has an alder body paired with a V-profile roasted maple neck that has a 12″ radius slab rosewood fretboard. The fretboard is fitted with 21 frets and has a bone nut. The neck is based on a Custom Shop Strat that Christone has made and likes, so he specified the same profile for his signature model.
Elsewhere, you get a custom Kingfish engraved neckplate, a set of vintage-style tuners and a bullet-style truss rod adjustment.
Custom Pickups
The guitar features a pair of Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe custom humbucking pickups. These pickups will also be made available to buy separately. Each pickup has a “K” crown logo to let you know they are his own signature model. The same crown logo is also seen on the rear of the guitar’s headstock.
King of Tone?
It certainly sounds good in Christone “Kingfish” Ingram’s hands and you can hear it in action in the two official demo videos from Fender below. I like that dark purple finish, and the twin humbucker setup with a hardtail bridge is certainly a classic combination tone-wise.
MSRP – Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe GBP 2249 * and signature pickups GBP 289* a pair
