All About the Fender American Pro Classic
Fender Combines Tradition and Modernity
The Fender American Professional Classic series brings a breath of fresh air to the discussion about traditional electric guitars, offering a clear vintage focus. Those who have always sought instruments balancing classic details and modern playability should take note. At first glance, it’s clear that this series offers more than just new colors and minor updates; it’s a holistic concept that captures the essence of well-established classics.
What’s particularly exciting is how it differs from the more expensive American Professional II series. Rather than focusing on high-end features, these models boast deliberately reduced yet carefully selected details, such as staggered classic gear tuners, Coastline pickups with a vintage character, and lacquered surfaces reminiscent of a decades-old patina. These features make the series appealing to guitarists who value modern handling as well as history and character in sound and appearance.
Fender American Pro Classic Stratocaster
What’s new and different about it? At first glance, the differences are often difficult to spot. It’s worth taking a closer look. All new models feature an alder body, a maple neck (with the option of a rosewood fingerboard), and classic specifications. These include a 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo and Fender staggered classic gear tuners. The neck, however, has a modern C shape.

The pickups are Coastline ’57 single coils; the HSS version also features a Coastline humbucker. They are equipped with a Greasebucket tone circuit. Strat models are available at Thomann*, starting at €1,699.00.

Classic Telecaster
The same applies to the new Telecaster as to the Stratocaster. The pickups have been carried over by name, except for the 3-saddle vintage-style string-through-body Tele bridge with slotted brass barrel string saddles. However, this model uses two Coastline ’63 single-coil Telecaster pickups. The Hotshot Telecaster also features a Coastline ’57 single-coil Stratocaster pickup in the middle position. All new Telecaster models in the series are available at Thomann*.

Classic Jazzmaster
Fans of the Jazzmaster will also be delighted by its successful American Pro Classic features. Apart from the Jazzmaster’s special design, the only difference is in the pickups. Two Coastline ’65 single-coil Jazzmaster pickups transmit the vibrations. The Jazzmaster will be available exclusively with a rosewood fingerboard and in four colors at Thomann*.

Fender American Pro Classic Jaguar
Of course, the Jaguar cannot be left out. The ingredients fit together very well here, too, resulting in a genuine, classic Jaguar. The two Coastline ’62 single-coil Jaguar pickups deliver plenty of power. The American Pro Classic Jaguar costs €1,799.00 and is currently available at Thomann*.

Conclusion
The new entry-level models from the California factory impress with their sensitivity to both classic vintage specifications and modern approaches. The result is authentic, professional-grade Fender guitars that deliver the desired “mojo” effect. Each model also includes a matching deluxe gig bag.

I cannot understand the classic Jazzmaster without rhythm circuit…
