The Electro-Voice EVIVA system includes two full-range speaker models and a subwoofer with different modes for DJs and live musicians.
Electro-Voice has been a consistent innovator in different areas like recording, broadcast, and live sound reinforcement. When it comes to designing PA systems, the first EV loudspeakers were created nearly a century ago, so it’s safe to say they know what they’re doing.
Electro-Voice EVIVA
The EVIVA series is a lightweight and portable range of PA speakers designed for the modern mobile DJ and musician who may not be traveling with a road crew from one gig to another. Ideal for smaller venues, the EVIVA is remarkably easy to set up and configure, so you won’t need to hire an engineer to get a clean and cohesive sound for your show.
The full range speakers in the range, the EVIVA 12P (12-inch, 1000W) and EVIVA 15P (15-inch, 1000W) use the EV SST (Signal Synchronized Transducer) technology and custom neodymium high-frequency compression drivers, delivering a frequency range that goes up to 20 kHz and down to 50 Hz in the 12P and 45 Hz in the 15P, with a max SPL of 125 and 126 dB respectively.
On the rear panel of each speaker, you’ll find a 2-channel mixer with XLR combo inputs for mic and line-level signal. There is no Hi-Z input, however, so don’t forget your DI box if you’re working without a mixer. As mentioned, there are voicing modes for working with live instruments and music playback, as well as a high-pass filter for connecting the subwoofer.
Meanwhile, the EVIVA 18SP is an 18-inch 1000W subwoofer that reaches all the way down to 38 Hz, which exceeds the requirements of most small venues. Configuration is simple, with the same voicing modes and a low-pass filter for pairing the sub with either the 12P or 15P. Overall, the EVIVA series offers powerful reinforcement with lightweight form factors; the 12P weighting only 12.0 kg (26.5 lb).
