Free Plugins of the Week
Crush Audio Crush FX: Free Multi-Effects Processor
Developed as part of Crush Audio’s new Crush Percussion instrument ($299), Crush FX is also available as a standalone effect – for free! The suite includes 15 effects ranging from clippers and filters to reverbs, delays, distortions, and more.

Crush FX offers five slots that you can fill with the effects of your choice. Each slot offers its own set of controls and a mix slider. In addition, the plugin includes a one-knob compressor, a transient shaper, high and low shelf EQs, and resonant high and low cut filters. There’s also a random mode that delivers new sounds at the push of a button. Perfect for creative sound shaping!
Crush FX is available for macOS and Windows in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats. Although the plugin is free, it does unfortunately require an iLok account.
Auburn Sounds Selene: Versatile Algorithmic Reverb
We’ve featured some of Auburn Sounds’ excellent freebies in this weekly column before, such as the popular Graillon 3 pitch correction plugin, Lens Free, and Renegate. The developer’s latest creation is Selene, a versatile algorithmic reverb.

In addition to the all-important Size, Decay, Pre-Delay, and Diffusion controls, Selene offers precise shaping of the reverb tail with an 8-band damping EQ and a 2-band post EQ. The Mix section lets you control the early reflections and reverb independently. Selene even offers built-in ducking and gating.
There’s also a paid version for $18.94 that adds 2x oversampling and a shimmer effect with four modes.
Selene is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST, AU, AAX, and LV2 formats.
23DSP StereoChorus: How Much Widening Would You Like?

StereoChorus by 23DSP is a dual-channel chorus with independent controls for the left and right channels. Each channel lets you adjust the Depth, Rate, Feedback, and Delay separately, which allows for everything from subtle widening to vintage-style shimmer to all sorts of wacky stereo effects with heaps of modulation.
For $5, you can upgrade to MS-StereoChorus, which adds mid/side capabilities.
StereoChorus is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
