Cornerstone Nucleo: Reverb Inspired by Zwentendorf Nuclear Plant
Stereo reverb inspired by an Austrian decommissioned nuclear facility
The Cornerstone Nucleo Stereo Reverb pedal has finally got a release date after being announced at the end of 2024. This unique pedal was inspired by a visit to the Zwentendorf Nuclear Plant by YouTube content creator Paul Davids.
Cornerstone Nucleo
The Nucleo is based on the ambient space of an old nuclear reactor and offers stereo reverb. This collaboration between Cornerstone and Paul Davids was inspired by one of his YouTube videos from 2024.
The video was filmed at the inactive Zwentendorf nuclear plant in Austria, and this stereo reverb pedal is based on the ambiance found in this decommissioned facility. Paul Davids created some Impulse Responses of this cavernous space, and now you can access some of these virtual spaces via this new pedal.
Controls
This powerful reverb offers comprehensive control over your sound, starting with Reactor Size: Normal, LoFi, or Vintage, which lets you sculpt the reverb from a tight, lo-fi room to an expansive, immersive soundscape.
You can precisely manage the mix of your original audio and the processed reverb using the Blend control. For added depth and movement, the Modulation feature introduces a variety of effects, while Pitch Shifting allows for experimentation with otherworldly textures.
Finally, the Freeze function provides the ability to capture and sustain a specific moment in the reverb, creating endless atmospheric possibilities.
Verdict
It offers up to 90-second decay times and has 3 onboard presets with 128 via MIDI, and offers USB-C audio for use with a DAW (and for firmware updates). Making it perfect for anyone who likes ambient textures and super-long delay time. It is certainly going to appeal to many creative musicians and lovers of ambiance.
