Apothecary Series

Boutique pedal manufacturer Red Witch has announced the launch of its captivating new Apothecary Series, a collection of five distinct guitar effects pedals that blend striking aesthetics with exceptional durability.

New Zealand’s Finest

Designed in New Zealand by the renowned Ben Fulton, the series comprises the Euphorium Fuzz, Epiphanous Drive, Invidium Phaser, Cynosium Modulated Delay, and the Plurious Chorus/Vibrato.

Each pedal has a set of coloured aluminium knobs which match the aesthetic of the pedal and make these stompboxes look great.

I’m already a huge fan of Ben’s work, and this new series looks and sounds fantastic, and they all look like a high-quality build.

Fuzz, Drive, Modulation & Delay

The Invidium Phaser, a successor to the highly regarded Moon Phaser (I own the Deluxe Moon Phaser, and it is amazing), offers both a classic two-stage phasing and a unique “tremophase” mode.

The Euphorium Fuzz provides a versatile silicon fuzz with a switchable “Bliss” mode for stacked circuits and a “Grain” control for added sputter. The Epiphanous Drive aims for a transparent, Plexi-esque overdrive with flexible EQ options.

Inspired by tape echoes, the Cynosium Modulated Delay offers an extended 2000ms delay time with adjustable wow and flutter. Finally, the Plurious Chorus/Vibrato, drawing lineage from the Empress Chorus, delivers a rich and versatile analogue chorus sound.

Lifetime Warranty

As always with Ben Fulten, these pedals are designed to last a lifetime, and he also uses a new Cynosium footswitch boasting a 100,000-cycle guarantee!

Red Witch is also offering a lifetime warranty to the original registered owner. Making these pedals a solid investment.

Price & Availability

Priced at $249 each, the Red Witch Apothecary Series is available now directly from Red Witch.

Blue FX Devices

Blue FX Devices is launching a Kickstarter campaign to bring their Fuzz Fields to market.

Departing from traditional static fuzz effects, Fuzz Fields boasts an analog core interwoven with three dynamic modulation voices, creating a constantly evolving tapestry of fuzz tones.

This design allows the fuzz to scream, swell, saturate, and flutter in response to the player’s touch, putting expressive control directly at their fingertips. Which all sounds like it could be a lot of fun and so I’ll be watching this campaign closely.

Robert Plant Sells Iconic Guitars for Charity

Led Zeppelin legend Robert Plant is offering fans and collectors a rare opportunity to own a piece of rock history while supporting worthy causes. The frontman is selling a curated selection of guitars from his personal collection through vintage guitar dealer ATB Guitars in Cheltenham, UK.

All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Plant’s chosen charities, including The Good Shepherd in Wolverhampton, demonstrating his commitment to giving back.

The collection features instruments Plant himself used “on various recordings and demos throughout the years,” both during his time with Led Zeppelin and throughout his successful solo and collaborative career. While Plant humbly admits he can’t recall the specific tracks or dates for each guitar, he affirms that “each one has had a purpose and a use.” ATB Guitars expressed their honor in representing this significant collection.

1990 Gibson Les Paul Standard

Already generating considerable buzz, a 1990 Gibson Les Paul Standard, a special gift from the legendary Les Paul himself, has already been snapped up. However, several noteworthy instruments remain available.

1962 Fender Stratocaster

The centerpiece of the current lineup is a heavily modified 1962 Fender Stratocaster, previously owned by British blues icon Stan Webb of Chicken Shack. Plant, a longtime admirer of Webb, acquired the guitar directly from him in the 1970s.

This unique Stratocaster boasts a stripped natural wood finish, aftermarket modifications by renowned luthier John Birch (known for his work with Black Sabbath and Queen), including Suhr Vintage ’60s pickups and expanded tonal options.

Priced at £19,995, this guitar looks like it has just been reserved, so you may have to opt for ome of the more affordable instruments in this sale.

For those with a slightly smaller budget, the collection also includes a 1993 USA-made Dobro F-60 Resonator (£1,995), used by Plant on his bluegrass projects, and a 1917 Gibson A-1 Style mandolin (£2,495), a piece of early Gibson craftsmanship with a storied past.

Each instrument comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Robert Plant, adding to their unique appeal and collectible value.
