Set filters to quirky – Elektron tease new product
The tiny corner of the internet reserved for gear nerds is alight with theories on what Elektron’s new teaser video is all about. Could there be a new product about to drop or are they just having fun with themselves?
There’s some hot coals, possibly a barbecue, a violin, a guitar, some bloke slapping himself and a pair of metal heads roaring off in an old car. All makes perfect sense to someone I’m sure. The soundtrack is synthetic but infused with real sounds maybe indicating a sample-based synthesis engine… Who knows. Facebook is aflutter with possibilities although most agree that the video tells us nothing.
So what do we think? A “hot” new product that mixes real and synthesised sounds, with beats and in-car portability? I think we’re going to have to wait and see, although I’m not sure I care.
I’m starting to lose interest in teaser videos. They get a lot of eyeballs for sure, creates a bit of a buzz, but then risks being a let down if it’s not as awesome as people hope. Why not just give us the product and let that be its own buzz? At least that would give us bloggers something to write about.
