5,0 / 5,0 |
Falcon 2027, UVI’s flagship software instrument, gets set for the new year with more of everything and UI improvements.
Falcon 2027 Gets New Oscillators
UVI’s Falcon gets another significant update ahead of the new year, and users are in for some significant improvement, as well as the availability of three new expansion packs. Topping the bill in terms of new features are the new oscillators. These include West Folder, FM Explorer, Spectral Stretch and Sample Mapping.
New FX
There’s also a bucket load of new FX including Lowpass Gate, Wavefolder, FET Compressor, Feedforward Compressor, Multimode Steiner Filter, Passive EQ, Analog BBD Delay, Analog BBD Chorus, Spectrogram analyzer, and Loudness Meter.
Other Additions and Improvements
There’s a new modulator called Data Envelope and the new version comes with 100 brand bew presets to showcase all of the new features and functionality. As usual, there are also some UI updates which this time include a Module TreeView browser, a new oscillator picker with category filters and a bunch of other interface improvements.
New Falcon Expansion Packs
The three new Falcon Expansions are Particular, Savage 2 and West Fold, the latter of which is a modern take on West Coast style synthesis, no doubt making great use of the new West Folder oscillator.
More Information
As always, UVI’s update to its flagship product is a considerable one that improves on what is already an excellent instrument and sound design tool. For me, it is up there with the likes of Omnisphere and Superior Drummer 3 as an essential tool in everyone’s musical construction kit. There’s plenty for existing users to explore and more than enough to attract those who have yet to get on board.
Updates are free for existing users, with discounted prices for new users for a limited time. New purchasers will also receive a $100/€100 voucher to use against any soundware purchase of their choice. Of course, subscribers to UVI’s SonicPass get Falcon and all the new expansions included in their package.
