Befaco has teamed up with Tesseract Modular to create ARK: an impressive 16-track sequencer that’s also a synth and a sample player. The new main hub of your Eurorack system?

The new ARK from Befaco and Tesseract Modular is both: a versatile MIDI and CV sequencer and a self-contained instrument.

While we don’t know all the details yet, what the manufacturers have revealed so far sounds very promising. The sequencer with big, Cherry-compatible keys offers stochastic and Euclidean modes and outputs MIDI and CV. Judging by the panel, patterns seem to be up to 64 steps long, but I could be wrong. In addition to MIDI In/Out, there are eight CV/gate output pairs, six CV inputs, Clock In/Out, and Reset In/Out. ARK also supports external MIDI parameter control; a controller can be connected directly to the module’s USB host port.

Even though we don’t know much more at this point, ARK seems to be a powerful sequencer capable of running your entire show. But that’s not all: The module also contains an internal synthesis engine and sample player, which can be activated per track. The sounds can be controlled by the internal sequencer or via MIDI, and there are 16 internal modulators. Furthermore, ARK offers a fully featured mixer with effects and master dynamics.

The signals from the sequencer and the internal sound engine can be flexibly routed to the available outputs, with the CV outputs doubling as audio outputs.

What’s also interesting is the detached form factor. ARK is divided into two separate modules: the sequencer unit and the master unit with the screen, configuration buttons, encoders, and I/O. This lets you place each half in the most convenient location within your system that best suits your workflow.

An exciting new addition to the range of “big” Eurorack sequencers – we can’t wait to find out the details.

Price and Availability

According to Befaco, they’re aiming for a release in late 2026 and a price of €666, tax included.
