Music Man Axis 30th Anniversary: Limited Run
The classic Van Halen signature celebrated with limited run
Ernie Ball Music Man has just announced the Axis 30th Anniversary models, high-performance instruments designed for fast playing.
Axis 30th Anniversary
The Axis 30th Anniversary model is a new run from Ernie Ball Music Man of the popular model, which was originally an Eddie Van Halen signature model back in the ’90s, before he moved to Peavey and then eventually started up EVH Gear with Fender.
These new 30th Anniversary models are available in six translucent finishes, including Gold, Black, Blue, Pink, Purple, and Red, which all showcase the figured quilted maple tops beautifully, and they have matching headstocks. I’ve owned an original 1996 model, and they are sublime guitars.
The figured maple neck features a comfortable asymmetrical neck carve, fitted with 22 stainless steel frets, and glow-in-the-dark side dots. They feature a solid 5-bolt neck plate, so they sit tight in the neck pocket.
DiMarzio
They come equipped with a pair of custom-designed DiMarzio humbucking pickups, specifically wound for the Axis model and directly mounted to the guitar body. These are controlled by a single volume control and a 3-way toggle switch
Rock Solid Tuning
The decked Ernie Ball Music Man double-locking tremolo system and a set of Schaller tuners complete the high-quality hardware. My original never went out of tune, so expect rock-solid performance from these.
Limited Run
This limited worldwide run includes 120 Gold models and 100 each of the Black, Pink, Purple, Blue, and Red finishes. They all come with an exclusive 30th-anniversary logo on the back. Each guitar comes with a certificate of authenticity and is delivered in a high-quality hardshell case.
Price and availability
The Music Man 30th Anniversary Axis will soon be available at Thomann for €4,299.00. Due to the extremely limited production run, the guitars will sell out quickly.
Originals are becoming pricey, and so these 30th Anniversary models with their stainless steel frets and glow-in-the-dark side dots are a great option for players in 2026.
