Conceptually, Limit operates as a two-stage limiter for mixing and mastering. The emphasis is not on tonal coloration, but on precise level control. As loudness increases, tonality and stereo width remain stable. On the master bus or on groups with pronounced transients, the plugin delivers a more controlled and professional overall sound while preserving detail and reliably preventing clipping.
Internally, the processing is clearly divided into two sections. First, a pre-compression stage tames peaks before they reach the final limiter. This enables smoother behavior and reduces the risk of audible artifacts. The subsequent brickwall stage then defines the absolute ceiling. Instead of a traditional threshold control, intensity is adjusted via the input gain. As the level rises, the plugin reduces dynamics in a consistent and predictable way.
