Gibson L-1 Anniversary Limited Edition
When it comes to getting things right, Gibson leaves no stone unturned. This L-1 Anniversary is no exception. Here, we’ve got a wonderful Cremona Burst on the thermally aged spruce top. Treating the wood this way enhances resonance and overall tone. Along with your typical scalloped Gibson X bracing, this faithful replica sounds as it should.
Moreover, the back and sides are both solid mahogany to further aid the familiar tonal character. Plus, an ebony fingerboard sits upon a mahogany neck. Quality guaranteed.

Attention to detail
What’s so special about the Gibson L-1 Anniversary? Marking 100 years since the first flat-top guitar, Gibson is making just 100 of these guitars. The craftsmanship is next level, featuring an ebony historic pyramid bridge and a custom soundhole. Moreover, the headstock features a ‘The Gibson’ script, which looks back at the model from the last century.
Visually, I’m not a fan of the shape and size. Nonetheless, it has 18 frets upon that ebony fingerboard and has a scale length of 635mm.
It’ll also look well in your display case, as the Cremona Burst is finished with a high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Sophisticated and timeless. I have to say, I’m also a sucker for white bindings.

Pricing and Availability
The limited Gibson L-1 Anniversary is currently avaliable right now from *Thomann for £4,390 / €4,999, which isn’t the worst price to pay for a piece of Gibson history. There’s also a wonderful vintage hard case included.
