PRS 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow
This latest release from PRS is another guitar that celebrates the company’s 40th Anniversary. Officially called the 40th Anniversary Special Semi-Hollow Limited Edition, it is available in two finishes: Faded Whale Blue with a natural back and Yellow Tiger.
Black Limba
This model comes with an artist-grade figured maple top, a black limba back and neck, and a Honduran rosewood fretboard, which is also used for the headstock veneer.
The Pattern-shape neck is the standard 25” scale length, fitted with 22 frets and a 10″ radius fretboard, so it will be familiar to any PRS fans. The fretboard has a set of “Old School” Birds with outline inlay, and the headstock has the Pre-Factory Eagle with outline.
PRS is building a total of 280 of these guitars.
High-End Tones
This model features the PRS McCarty III treble and bass pickups, along with a PRS Narrowfield pickup for the middle position. The pickups are controlled by a 5-way blade and two mini toggle switches, along with standard volume and tone controls.
Hardware includes a set of PRS Phase III Locking Tuners with wing buttons, and a Gen III patented PRS tremolo system.
Each guitar also comes with a hand-signed 40th Anniversary certificate, included in the PRS hard case. These are top-tier PRS models, and they come with a price tag to match.
