Nobels MOD-mini

The Nobels MOD-mini offers three great modulation effects in stereo (via TRS jacks) and has packed in some handy features into the compact orange pedal. This is the latest in their mini-pedal lineup and follows on from the ODR-mini2, DEL-mini Delay, and the CHO-mini chorus.

Affordable Modulation

If you like modulation, then having three types in one affordable, compact pedal is hard to ignore. The price point for these is officially $99/€99, and so you are getting an awful lot for your money. It’s also stereo, which is a huge bonus for some players, and it features tap tempo.

Simple To Operate

The demo videos all sound good, and the mini pedal follows a similar format to the previous in this series.

You get glow-in-the-dark knobs, easy-to-use controls, including Rate, Width, Mix (Dry/Wet), and a three-position Mode mini switch for choosing the desired modulation effect.

Tap Tempo

If you hold down the main on/off footswitch, the pedal enters Tap Tempo mode, allowing you to experiment with the three included modulation effects, timing in real-time. Helpful in matching the tempo and groove of your songs. The LED will flash in time, giving you a handy visual aid when you’re playing.

The pedal features two mini switches located on top, near the power supply input. These controls determine whether the pedal operates in mono or stereo mode, and whether it features true bypass or buffered bypass.

Modulation Effects

The three modulation effects cover a lot of ground, and the Tremolo, Phaser, and U-Vibe (Uni-Vibe) effects all sound as you would hope. They cover a lot of classic vintage late ’60s and ’70s-style modulation effects, which could be perfect for any guitarist who requires all three, but has limited space or budget for three individual effect pedals.

Verdict

I’m impressed that Nobels can cram so much into these mini pedals, and the price point is perfect for what this pedal offers. I would certainly buy one of these myself and have it on a pedalboard, as I love modulation effects, and these three all sound very usable.

I am that ‘grumpy old man’ and so often, new gear doesn’t impress me, but this affordable $99 three-in-one stereo modulation pedal with tap tempo has.

Potentially, you could buy one of their mini pedals and have a really nice, compact pedalboard that covers a lot of ground.

Coming Soon

We will update you as soon as this is available at Thomann. Officially, it is expected to be released in November, so there’s not long to wait!
