Gibson Parlor Rosewood EC: Small Yet Mighty!
New Gibson Parlor Rosewood EC in Rosewood Burst finish
Gibson has just released the Parlor Rosewood EC in a fetching Rosewood Burst nitro cellulose finish—a small-bodied acoustic guitar with a big sound.
Gibson Parlor Rosewood EC
This new Gibson Parlor Rosewood EC will appeal to players who prefer a smaller acoustic guitar. It is compared to the SJ-200 by Gibson, who state it is a pared-down version, so perfect for anyone who needs a big sound without the large body.
Construction for this model consists of a solid Sitka spruce top finished in a Rosewood Burst gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Then it has a solid rosewood back and sides finished in a satin nitrocellulose lacquer. The design uses multi-ply top and single-ply back binding to enhance the look.
Advanced Response
This model uses a dovetail neck-to-body joint, has a radiused top, and also has traditional scalloped X-bracing. The mahogany neck is also finished in a satin nitro and uses Gibson’s Advanced Response profile, which they state is “not too slender or too beefy and sits comfortably in the hand for most players”.
A bound rosewood fretboard with a 16” fretboard radius is fitted with 19 standard frets and has a set of single parallelogram mother-of-pearl inlays with a matching headstock mother-of-pearl logo.
This model comes complete with a TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins and a set of Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners. Finally, it has a rosewood bridge and a faux tortoise pickguard.
L.R. Baggs VTC
This model comes equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle piezo pickup system and has controls for volume and tone controls hidden in the soundhole to control the preamp. A great little system and perfect for making this acoustic cut through on stage.
