Analogue Solutions AS Vocoder: Analog 12-Band Vocoder
Analogue Solutions has announced the AS Vocoder! The analog 12-band vocoder will be available as a standalone unit and as an expansion module for the Colossus synth.
Analogue Solutions AS Vocoder
While Analogue Solutions won’t be present at Superbooth this year, I think the timing of this announcement is hardly a coincidence. The soon-to-be-released AS Vocoder is an analog vocoder that will be available as a standalone unit and as an expansion module for the massive Colossus console.
According to Analogue Solutions, the AS Vocoder will combine the warmth and character of classic analog circuits with modern reliability. While it’s inspired by vintage circuits from the 1970s, it’s an original design.
The AS Vocoder offers 12 filter bands, each equipped with an envelope follower for analyzing the spectral content of a modulator signal, such as a voice or drum loop. This is then used to modulate the internal oscillators or an external carrier signal.

Each of the 12 bands is individually adjustable and offers an envelope follower output. Additional options for CV control allow for flexible integration into a modular system.
Analogue Solutions says that the standalone version will feature a rugged metal enclosure for use in the studio and on stage. You’ll also be able to add the module directly to the Colossus console.

Price and Availability
As of now, Analogue Solutions hasn’t said when the AS Vocoder will be released and what it’ll cost.
