Sugar Bytes Dialekt is a new virtual groovebox that lets you create new beats, tracks and entire songs anywhere, anytime. The sequencer offers many of today’s most sought-after features, plus a comprehensive sound engine and a dedicated FX sequencer.
All About Sugar Bytes Dialekt
Sugar Bytes Dialekt is a Virtual Groovebox with Eight Tracks
There are now a number of different grooveboxes available that offer enough features to create entire songs. Sugar Bytes Dialekt joins this lineup and is available as a plugin and standalone app for computers, with an additional app for iPhone and iPad.
Sugar Bytes Dialekt features eight tracks with a variety of sound engines – the developer claims a total of 27 “synth engines”. In addition to synthesizers and drum engines, there are classic oscillators, percussion sounds, and instruments such as piano, organ, strings, flutes, and vocal sounds. This Groovebox also includes a sample slicer with recording function – but only in the standalone version.
The sequencer in Sugar Bytes Dialekt offers all the essential features you could want these days. Each sound can be customized with its own settings, plus features such as rolls, trigger conditions (hello Elektron!), and individual lengths and tempos for each track.
Individual patterns can also be triggered via MIDI, which not only allows for seamless integration into your DAW, but also opens up more possibilities for live performances. The song sequencer offers additional features such as pattern repeats, FX, track mutes and the song randomizer, which plays a central role here.
The Song Randomizer Shuffles Music According to Your Specifications
The song randomizer in Sugar Bytes Dialekt automatically generates individual tracks, parts or even entire songs, delivering new grooves and sounds every time.
This tool creates patterns, sounds, chord progressions, fills, mutes and FX sequences to your specifications for different genres, which can also be applied to individual elements such as sounds, patterns, pitches or global parameters.
The Memory Page helps you organize individual tracks, patterns and parts quickly and clearly. You can copy and rotate individual elements, and drag and drop to create your own arrangements.
FX Sequencer
Eight effects await you in Sugar Bytes Dialekt, which can also be controlled by touch (on iOS versions). TapeStop, Filter Delay, Reverb, Looper, Phaser, Chorus, LowPass and LoFi can also be precisely programmed using the FX Sequencer.
Recorded effect gimmicks can be edited and overdubbed at any time. And yes, the effect sequences also end up on the memory page.
Sugar Bytes Dialekt looks like a great creative tool for new beats and music. The German manufacturer emphasizes that you can use it to jam and develop ideas on the go (via the app) and then refine them on your computer. The iOS app and the desktop version are compatible. Of course, you can also work entirely with the standalone version or the plugin on your computer. Pretty cool!
